Ely Ghost Tour with spouses' group
Our guide begins to weave her tales of hauntings and other paranormal experiences...
beginning with the Cromwell House in Ely
As we were standing underneath the window of Oliver Cromwell's bedroom, listening to the tale of his appearances...a figure in period garb emerges from the murky darkness, walks silently through our group and stands staring at us.
Another "ghost"?
another figure emerges from the darkness, this time marching slowly and methodically, making his way through our group, turning to salute us...and then...
...he continues his slow, almost silent, march down the street into the foggy darkness
No...not a ghost!

The face of a beloved sister...much better than any old ghost....hehehe!
One perspective of Ely Cathedral at night
stained glass and tombstones...
another wicked figure to walk through our group bent on scaring us...
I wish this one had come out clearer...
I could easily imagine myself in another time period with the foggy night, the arched windows and gates...and the stone paths...
spooky...spooky...
unlocking the metal gate to get into the cathedral cemetary...
loved this one of the lit tower and the stained glass windows in the cathedral...
as was the case with some of the other "ghosts" along our tour...this one wouldn't stand still long enough for me to get a clear snapshot
This fellow was hunched over, wearing a black cape, carrying a bag with what looked like it could have contained a body in it...such dramatics to get a few screams out of a group of women!  hehehe.

It was lighthearted fun...mostly because it was difficult to keep in the "dark mood" when in the company of such good ladies.
: )

NO FEAR!  hehehe!
After our tour we enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Old Fire Engine House.
Here our guide graciously agreed to stand for a photo for me.
This woman enjoys her job, it's clear.
