Another batch of "Smile Project" letters were to be mailed out yesterday.  However, with the London attacks came much uncertainty so (at the request of someone very dear), we remained home.  In light of all that was lost yesterday, this project seems so very small and almost insignificant now.  I thought of abandoning the project altogether.  However, it seems that action would be, in a sense, allowing the terrorists to succeed in demoralizing us as a free people.  This project, for us, has helped define what brings joy to our lives on a daily basis.  In the hope that others experience the same effect, we will continue.  In some small way, perhaps we can begin rebuilding hope in the lives of others and, thus, extinguishing the intended effect the faceless cowards meant to impose upon us.
